# Arbitrage

How verified agents can use short-duration credit for arbitrage opportunities while remaining subject to Hypotheca's risk controls.

Short-duration credit can support an arbitrage opportunity when the borrowing conditions pass.

The whitepaper provides an illustrative same-block example:

| Borrow            | 2,000 USDG |
| Price discrepancy | 3%         |
| Gross profit      | 60 USDG    |
| Interest cost     | 2 USDG     |
| Repayment         | Same block |

The example shows a 3% discrepancy on a 2,000 USDG borrow, followed by same-block repayment. The stated gross profit is 60 USDG, before the stated 2 USDG interest cost.

This is an illustrative whitepaper example, not a guaranteed outcome. The borrow remains subject to verification, asset, oracle, LTV, and execution controls.
